To her own beat and rhythm

Meet Margaret Morton:

Margaret Morton from Kelowna, BC, embodies positivity, strength, and resilience. Married for 41 years to her supportive husband, Robert, she is a proud mother of three adopted children, and comes from a long line of strong Indigenous women. Margaret's journey with Parkinson's began in 2017, a shocking diagnosis that initially hit her hard.

Soon after though, she found her determination. "I don’t let anything stop me," she now asserts. Despite the daily challenges, Margaret continues to embrace life with vigour, from coaching soccer and wielding power tools to nurturing her creative soul through painting and writing.

Margaret was hesitant at first to share her diagnosis with others for fear of judgement, but she now says that being able to be vulnerable and share the news with those close to you is a big help. Her advice to others newly diagnosed is to remember this mantra: "You’re still you. I’m still just me." Exercise, creativity, and unwavering positivity are her pillars.

Margaret's story is not one of survival but of thriving, illustrating that with the right mindset, "anything is possible." Her message is bold and unapologetic: live life fully, embrace each day, stand tall and define Parkinson's on your terms.
