To their unique rhythm

Meet Peter and Aurora:

Peter and his wife Aurora from Kitchener-Waterloo have faced Parkinson’s with strength and humor. Together with their close-knit family, they've tried to approach Parkinson’s with a positive mindset, focusing on what they can still do. "I want to travel and try new things," he says. They are about to embark on a month-long trip to Italy, embracing life’s adventures.

Aurora recalls the early challenges with Peter's diagnosis, including difficulty in getting doctors to take his symptoms seriously. However, with persistence and finding the right specialist, Peter now receives excellent care.

Part of Peter's approach to Parkinson's includes humor; sometimes referring to himself as "Peter Parker" due to his Parkinson's. He enjoys walking his granddaughters to school, showing them that despite his condition, their Nonno is there for them.

Peter advice: "Don’t give up. Stay positive. Stay active." This combined with Aurora's unwavering support and their family's involvement have been crucial in maintaining his quality of life.

Peter and Aurora have found their own unique rhythm, allowing them to transform the everyday challenges of Parkinson's into expressions of strength.
